Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled User Terminal Operations Engineerto join our team. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact within an organization that values growth, teamwork, and professional development.
Who You Are:
As a UT Operations Engineer at OneWeb, you will play a key role in our business growth. You will work with other Operations Engineering and Development teams to provide tier 3 operational support for the early stages of new user terminals deployment, service support escalations, and new system features deployments.
What You’ll Do:
* Provide Tier 3 Operations Engineer support for User Terminal Service and Operations troubleshooting and debugging
* Perform new firmware and software release planning and testing for a variety of UTs
* Deliver hands on training of new features and user terminals to Operations Team and Distribution Partners
* Work closely with the Dev Engineering and System Engineering to identify issues to improve the performance of UTs
* Investigate and reproduce reported issues with UT vendors engineers
* Create and maintain documentation regarding existing standards and processes
* Provide support for installation and configuration of user terminals
* On-site engagement with technical support from Distribution Partners
* Support on-call rotation for high priority escalations
* Travel up to 20% of the time
What You’ll Need:
* Systematic and methodical approach to debugging and problem solving
* 3+ years experience with SatCom and RF technologies
* Experience with IP networks (routing and switching)
* Good working knowledge and use of Linux OS and experience in Python programming
* Experience in using AI tools, e.g. Claude
* Working understanding of Cellular Technologies would be desirable, e.g. 3GPP (4G)
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Understanding of regulatory and test standards related to land maritime and aviation industry
* Experience with RF test and measuring equipment
* A degree in a related engineering field (information systems, computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering)
* Ability to articulate problems and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audience
Nice to Have:
* Experience in electrical and mechanical skills required in Satcom
